Pete Townshend: Wild Action
Label / Index # Chapter One
Venue: The Roundhouse Theatre, London, UK, April 14, 1974 Recording: Audience Comments: Compare with the solo PT Pete Townshend: Pure 'n' Easy (LP) (Penguin Records Project Egg Three). This is a really neat show. PT plays a tape from his taperecorder to explain to the audience the concept of a "demo". Some of the songs are also available on the vinyl Pete Townshend: Obscure & Oblique (LP) (PT ZST), though this is the longer of the two. This recording is some- what fuzzy / distorted at the beginning but does get better as it goes on but still leaves a bit to be desired in the sound department. I'd say this one is primarily for hard-core Who fans. I recently discovered a recording of the entire show which is somewhat better sounding and contains 20 tracks instead of the 18 listed here.
1. The Seeker 2. Big Bossman 3. Substitute 4. Amoureuse 5. If I Were A Carpenter 6. Happy Jack 7. Tattoo 8. I'm A Man 9. Behind Blue Eyes 10. Going To New York 11. Tapes Of My Generation 12.
