Roger Daltrey: Orchestral Tommy 1973
Label / Index # Party Line PLCD 001
Compare with; Tommy Live At The Rainbow (LP) (TAKRL 2956)
Venue: Unknown Recording: Soundboard Comments: One of the very few early Tommy stage recordings not done entirely by The Who. Other performer's names on this disc are not known. The sound quality here is excellent and this is really a very good performance. This is very similar to the 1972 vinyl bootleg Tommy Live At The Rainbow (LP) (TAKRL 2956) featuring David Essex, Marsha Hunt, Elkie Brooks, Roy Wood (of Wizzard) and Vivian Stan- shall. The fade-outs at the end of certain songs strongly indicated that this may in- deed a copy of the afore-mentioned vinyl boot Tommy Live At The Rainbow as they coincide with the end of each side of the vinyl version. For those who are unfamiliar with the above mentioned recording, compare this with the legitimate 1972 Tommy box set featuring Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend & John Entwistle performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
