When I have nothing else to do
I find me a paper
I take it on up to my room
You'll find me there later

I take it on up to my room
You'll find me there later

I'm gonna find me love
I'm gonna find me a car
I'm gonna find me some land in the country far
And I'm gonna drive my lady there,
and pick up my Evening Star

When I have nothing else to do
I buy me a paper
I take it on back home
You'll find both of us later
Reading the classified
Looking

When I have nothing else to do
I buy me a paper
I bring it on back home
Both of us later
You'll find us reading the classified

Gonna sleep with my Woman
Look in the column of adoption
Where gonna get us one little boy and a girl
In the classified
And every time, every time I will remember you
(guitar solo)
Reading the classified
Gonna find me a love
I'm gonna find me a car
I'm gonna find me some land in the country far
And I'm gonna drive my lady there,
and pick up the Evening Star
When we have nothing else to do

GREYHOUND GIRL

Each time we come here
I see we'll never come here again
Each time we make love
I say we'll never make love again
But, my little greyhound girl
You got me running, down the flat
But, my little greyhound girl
I'm in your dreams

Each time we ride out
I say we'll never ride out again
And, when we kiss
I say we'll never, never kiss again
But, my little greyhound girl
You got me running down the flat
My little greyhound girl
I'm in your dreams

I'm looking for reasons
I'm looking for reasons

But there ain't a why or a where
for to live around my little greyhound girl
You've got me running, down the flat
My little greyhound girl
I'm in your track

Follow letter by letter

(A) Acts must clean up, the past is all forgiven
(B) Better get teamed up, alone you just ain't living
(C) Check out your best stuff, look good and you'll feel right
(D) Don't get messed up, stand up to your full height at the night school
Nocturnal education

(E) Evade getting beaten down, no one will give a damn
(F) Forget the elite in town you know where life began
(G) Grin when you criticized, believe in yourself again
(H) Hide from the hypnotized, they transferred surely in night school
Nocturnal education

(I) "I am the one," you're crying
(J) The jailer has thrown away the (K) key
To your daily grind (L) that led you to (M) me
(N) I'm teaching down at night school

(O) Open the moment, don't count on tomorrow
(P) Put off postponement; face up to your sorrow
(Q) Quick, get it over, get back to the dance floor
(R) Release your phobia, that's what we romance for at the night school

(S) Stay in society, keep pain under wraps
(T) Tend to sobriety, in the tender traps
(U) You've heard of the raging moon, you were under its spell
(V) Now vanish like a burst balloon and listen out for the bell

Night school
Nocturnal education

Night school
Nocturnal education

(W) We are the one tonight
(X) Excepting only the dead
(Y) You ain't been listening to a word I said
(Z) yeah

At the night school, yeah
Teaching down at night school
Oooh, yeah
I'm teaching down at night school
Taking classes at the night school
Teaching down at night school
Deep in the night
Deep in the night
Night school
Oooh, yeah

Life To Life was from the Soundtrack and Movie, Playing For Keeps in 1986.
Released on Atlantic Records 81678-1-E (USA)

LIFE TO LIFE

Gotta let my heart learn to talk
Must let my head learn to walk
I must forget all the hopeless pain
Must bring my life back to life
Once again

Never let them see you crying
Don't try to run before you figured how to crawl
They must believe they are the lions
Never let them guess you learned how to fall

Let them brand you as a sinner
Let them think that your the one who has lost
You won't be charged with being a winner
You won't be saddled being called of the bus

Bring back to life
Life to life
Breath life into life
Back to life
Give life back to life

Why pretend to be so rough and strong
When your weakness is your strongest ten
Why pretend to be so tough so long
As you are really an ordinary man

Never let them see you dreaming
Never let them know you concord your sorrow
Don't let them know your scheming
Don't let them know that you have plans for tomorrow

To bring back to life
Give life back to life
Life to life
Back to life
Give life back to life
Will attack the stands
Can you stand the shaft
We need an iron man
They wanna man of rock
You can keep all the games
The suicide leaps
Keep away from the flames
This time where playing for keeps

(guitar solo)

Never let them see you crying
But make them sure your not afraid to cry
Never let them see you trying
Don't let them know you are prepared to die

To bring back to life
Give life back to life
Breath life into life
Life to life
Give life back to life

Gotta let my heart learn to talk
Must let my head learn to walk
I must forget all the hopeless pain
Must bring my life back to life
Once again

PENNY DROP

Every little car has to train
To pick the skin to use his brain
Got to be sharp, country wise
Must be ready to improvise.

Clink, clink you'll be Bob
Can't you hear the penny drop
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking, till you hear the penny clinking.

Now come, come, come let me explain
Watch as an expert get's me grain
Subtrude brilliance crystallized
Watch me Intellectualize.

Clink, clink you'll be Bob
Can't you hear the penny drop
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Can you hear the penny clinking.

We can not afford to wait
Please conceive and incubate
Their's no time for long debate
Use your paite concentrate.

Kids today have got no vision
Never do enough revision
Watch far too much television
Have you came to some decision.

Every little fox boy has to train
To pick the skin to use his brain
Got to be sharp, country wise
Must be ready to improvise.

Contemplation
Aspiration
Dedication
Recarnation.

Try cerebral exercise
But you just might materialize.

Clink, clink you'll be Bob
Can you hear the penny drop

Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Thinking, thinking, keep on thinking,
Can you hear the penny clinking.

I BELIEVE MY OWN EYES

Was taken from the Broadway play "Tommy".
It was released in the book "The Who's Tommy" in 1993 (pictured left)
And released as a CD single from West Germany in 1993 (pictured right)

Tommy
Tommy
Tommy

This can't continue, It makes no sense
We're getting nowhere, I've lost all my confidence
The boy wants something, I'm satisfied
He needs attention and care our love can't provide
And then there's the matter of us.

I'd like to prove that I don't feel that you've seen the best of me
I've stood up for the boy and I've clung to the hopes and the lies
I wish that the pain in your gaze could again be a test of me
But when I look in the mirror
I believe my own eyes.

I believe my own eyes
Know I've come to the end
All my patience is gone
When I'm doubtful I tend,
To believe my own eyes

I'd like to declare this devotion and care is the life to live
That nothing has changed and that time isn't passing us by
But I have to say here that for us,
There's a clear-cut alternative
When we look at each other, we believe our own eyes.

I believe my own eyes
Know I've come to the end
All my patience is gone
When I'm doubtful I tend
To believe my own eyes.

This has gone far enough
After all we've been through
We can't be blamed,
We've done all we can humanly do
It's a time to be tough
A time to be wise
We must stop chasing false dreams,
and recover our lives.

I believe my own eyes
Know I've come to the end
All my patience is gone
When I'm doubtful I tend
To believe

I'd like to believe that I don't feel that we've seen the best of us
And the way to believe is to see where the real future lies
I hope that the pain in your gaze can again be a test of us
But when I look in the mirror
 I believe my own eyes

Let's believe our own eyes
Know we've come to the end
All our patience is gone
Let's admit we intend
To believe our own eyes
To believe our own eyes
