TACOMA
Pete Townshend of "The Who" suffered a minor puncture wound to his right hand while doing his distinctive windmill guitar strum toward the end of the group's concert in Tacoma Wednesday night.
Townshend hit his hand on his guitar's whammy bar during the song "Won't Get Fooled Again." Townshend grimaced, set his guitar on the ground and walked off the Tacoma Dome stage.
The other band members checked up on Townshend, and lead singer Roger Daltrey announced to the crowd that Townshend had been taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
A hospital spokeswoman who asked not be be identified said Townshend was treated for a minor puncture wound and released.
The group's next concert is scheduled Friday in Vancouver, British Columbia.
