We should get a good feel for this year’s Bonnaroo on Wed., Feb. 14, when the festival releases an initial list of artists for the four-day extravaganza. Ticket onsale details for the June 14-17 concerts will also be revealed on Wednesday.

One name you should not expect to hear on Wednesday is Pearl Jam. The group had been widely rumored to perform at this year’s Bonnaroo, most likely as one of the headliners. The band, however, chose Europe over Manchester, and recently slated a 13-stop tour of the continent that overlaps with Bonnaroo week.

SXSW TO FOLLOW

Austin’s South By Southwest is likewise expected to announce the artist list for the mid-March music industry schmooze-fest this week. Unlike with Bonnaroo, this list has been liberally leaked to the savvy music bloggers of the world. As many as 300 bands slated for this year’s SXSW are just a Google search away. Among the big names set to anchor this year’s SXSW are Emmylou Harris, The Stooges, Badly Drawn Boy, Scissor Sisters, Interpol, Morrissey and Pete Townshend.
