The Who, starting a second decade at the top of the rock 'n' roll heap, is including Atlanta on its itinerary for the fall tour.

The band will give a show Monday, Nov. 24, at the Omni. A spokesman for the Omni said ticket arrangements had not been worked out and would be announced later.

The new tour is the first major one in America for the Who since 1971. The group appeared here in late 1973 as part of an abbreviated trip, and Pete Townshend and Keith Moon both were ad-lib performers during the Eric Clapton concert here in 1974.

The fall tour will consist of 19 cities and 20 concerts between Nov. 20 and Dec. 15. Atlanta is the fourth city on the tour, which opens in Houston, then moves to Baton Rouge and Memphis. A day after the Atlanta concert, the band is due in Murfreesboro, Tenn., presumably eliminating the possibility of adding a second Atlanta show.

The group will perform twice in Chicago, the only city so favored. In Pontiac, Mich., the band will perform in a 70,000-seat stadium, making it the largest engagement of the trip.

A second phase of the tour will begin approximately Feb. 1, with details yet to be worked out.

The group announced that Toots and the Maytals will be the opening act for all concerts.
