Thousands of rock music fans braved the early morning cold Saturday to purchase tickets for The Who concert scheduled for later this month at MTSU’s Murphy Center.
About 2,000 fans were crowded in front of the convocation center’s ticket booth an hour before the tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Well over a hundred people spent the night camped outside awaiting the rush on the tickets. Holding the head of the long line were two students who indicated they had been standing there since 8:30 a.m. Friday.
The total block of tickets available for the concert had been split, with half of them being sold at MTSU and the remainder at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Tickets were sold at the same time at both locations.
With buyers allowed to purchase four tickets each, the concert’s promoters were expecting to be sold out by sometime late Saturday afternoon.
