Who Sell Out in 2 Hours

Without press or radio announcement, 13,500 tickets for a Dec. 11 concert by the Who at Worcester Centrum were sold in two hours Saturday.

Neil Jacobsen of promoter Don Law's office said Ticketron outlets sold out the show by word of mouth. "We didn't want any publicity at all. That's the only way we felt we could do it from a public safety viewpoint."

He said the concert will be the band's only New England date.
