Who's Coming to Town?

The Who, that's who!

When big news breaks, you just can't keep it quiet. And for area concert goers, this news is the biggest: The Who, probably the biggest rock act in the world next to the Rolling Stones, is going to play a concert at Tarrant County Convention Center March 16. By all reports, it will be the Who's first appearance in Fort Worth. They have made at least three previous stops in Dallas. That's going to please a lot of folks who couldn't make their Summit concert in Houston several months ago.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, tickets won't be available long. In fact, all 17,000 of their Houston concert tickets were gone in four hours.

Roger Shepperd, of Fun Productions in Los Angeles, the agency handling the show, confirmed the date and said ticket information would be provided as soon as it becomes available. "We want everyone to have an equal opportunity for the tickets," Shepperd said. Currently, the group has a top selling album in "By Numbers," distributed by MCA Records, and a single that's moving up the charts called "Squeeze Box." During the last year they have been active individually as well as collectively.

LEAD SINGER Roger Daltry has been pursuing a career apart through a couple of solo LPs, and recently starred in Ken Russell's biography of Franz Liszt, "Lisztomania." Drummer Keith Moon,

widely acknowledged as the one of rock's zaniest performers both on and off the stage, has had a solo album, and bass player John Entwistle has had a couple as well. Lead guitarist Pete Townsend stays busy composing some of the best rock and roll music has to offer.
