Rock concerts slated

Lots of rock concerts are coming up in Seattle, starting with Graham Nash tonight in the Paramount Northwest Theater.

Frank Zappa comes to the Arena for a concert on Tuesday, the Spinners will be in the Opera House Thursday, and Pearl Harbor and the Explosions (yes, that's right) will perform in the Showbox next Friday. The J. Geils Band will be in Seattle for a concert at the Paramount March 29.

April gets underway with two shows by Van Halen, April 4 and 5, in the Coliseum. Both are sold out.

The Who may have set a record for selling out a pair of concerts in Seattle. Their April 15 and 16 concerts in the Coliseum both sold out hours after they were announced.

Also coming up in April: UFO in the Arena on April 8, Oregon at the University of Washington on April 13, the Boomtown Rats and Sue Saad at the Paramount, also on April 13, the Ramones at the Showbox on April 17 and 18, and the Troggs at the Showbox on April 24.

In May, the only concert announced so far is Ted Nugent, who will hit the Coliseum on May 28.
