Tampa-area fans of The Who will be able to pay tribute to the iconic band when they stop here during their farewell tour in the spring.

The Who, celebrating a 50-year legacy, are kicking off the spring leg of their North America tour at Amalie Arena on April 15.

Ticket sales will begin Monday for Citi credit card holders, and tickets for everyone else go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at The Who’s website, at the Amalie Arena box office and by calling (800) 745-3000. Prices range from $36.25 to $136.25, not including service charges.

“This is the beginning of the long goodbye,” founder and lead singer Roger Daltrey says on the band’s website.

Formed in 1964, the British band is known for songs such as “Pinball Wizard,” “I Can See For Miles,” “Behind Blue Eyes” and “My Generation.” Other hits serve as theme songs for the various “CSI” television series on CBS.

The band, which last performed in Tampa in 2007, has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and performed during the halftime show at the 2009 Super Bowl. Daltrey also performed a solo concert in Clearwater in 2009.

Other Florida dates include Miami (American Airlines Arena) on April 17 and Jacksonville (Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena) on April 19.
