MUSIC fans in the Cotswolds jumped at the chance to see rock legend John Entwistle perform with veteran Stow-on-the-Wold band the Stowaways, snapping up tickets in a matter of days.
Tickets for this weekend's charity gig sold out the day after the Standard revealed that the acclaimed Who bass player, who lives in Stow-on-the-Wold, was to perform with the band.
John agreed to perform with the Stowaways for a reunion concert after hearing that the band's original bassist no longer played.
The concert on Saturday night at the Royal British Legion, which is expected to attract around 200 people, is being held to raise money to buy life-saving equipment for Stow Surgery.
RBL president Morgan Davies said tickets had been selling well for two weeks before the gig but sold out as soon as fans learned that they could see one of rock's finest musicians for just 3.
