British rock legends The Who have postponed the remainder of their The Who Hits 50! North American tour dates after lead singer Roger Daltrey was diagnosed with viral meningitis.

The band had initially cancelled only the first four shows when Daltrey first became sick. But after the diagnosis, doctors prescribed a significant rest period, meaning that fans in 28 cities — including those here in Edmonton who had tickets for their Oct. 3 Rexall Place show — will miss out on hits such as Behind Blue Eyes, Who Are You and Pinball Wizard … for now.

The band, whose 50th-anniversary tour has taken them to the UAE, Europe and the U.S. since last November, promises to reschedule the 28 cancelled dates in spring 2016.
