The Who Announce Nashville Concert
Nashville Tennessean USA TODAY NETWORK – TENNESSEE
British rockers The Who have announced a Nashville concert on May 16 at Bridgestone Arena, according to Live Nation Concerts.
The concert is part of a 29-date North American tour that starts May 7 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Who plans to be accompanied by local symphony orchestras, and the band plans to release a new studio album later this year. The album will be The Who's first in 13 years.
Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey are the remaining members of The Who's lineup, which also featured drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle during the band's heyday.
Moon died in 1978, and Entwistle died in 2002.
The North American tour will be broken up with dates from May 7 to June 1 and then resuming Sept. 6 through Oct. 23.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning at noon Friday at LiveNation.com. A fan club presale started Wednesday.
