Moon flies in after jet high jinx
Captain Barry Newman today.
Madcap pop star Keith Moon finally reached London today after being ordered off a jet yesterday and missing a flight from Nairobi today.
Moon was ordered off a British Airways jet in the Seychelles yesterday and the captain of that jet was at the controls of the flight Moon missed today.
The captain, Barry Newman, said: "This flight was full and we left 12 passengers behind. I am not prepared to say whether I would have accepted him for today's flight."
Moon, who flew into Heathrow aboard a Kenya Airways Jet, said: "There's no doubt about it – I had a hell of a row with the British Airways pilot. I was having a bit of a boisterous chat with some film producers and the door of the flight deck was open.
"The captain complained about the noise. So I went up there and told him if he shut the door he wouldn't hear it.
Only I used slightly stronger language."
Despite the row he said: "I am writing a thank-you letter to British Airways. They paid for my hotel, gave me a taxi to tour the island and bought me dinner. So I had a free day out and I will certainly go British Airways again."
