The national tour of "The Who's Tommy" hits Springfield this weekend for three shows at Springfield Symphony Hall.

Who member Pete Townshend wrote the music and lyrics for the rock opera and co-wrote the book with Tony Award-winning director Des McAnuff.

An elaborate national tour, set to play the Bushnell last year, was sidetracked to Toronto, where it is still playing.

This scaled-down production is now traveling the United States.

Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $17.50 and $32.50.
