Rock Fan Finds Who Very Human

Shelly Starr, 13, who has been writing fan letters to The Who for almost two years with never an answer, got something better than a letter last night.

She met the British rock group backstage before their Miami Stadium concert, was hugged by Roger Daltry and Keith Moon, got their autographs and burst into tears.

Bill Curbishley, Who manager, saw a Miami News story about Shelly's devotion to the group and decided she should meet the "down-to-earth boys." He added "We're human beings, after all."

The only words Shelly managed to say came when she met drummer Keith Moon. "He's not crazy at all," she gasped, "like he is onstage."

With wild-haired Daltry, her hero of heroes, she could only stand dazed, with tears moving down her face.

"Glad you could make it," Daltry told her, with a big hug.
