The Who play two shows at the Town Hall in Auckland. Neither The Who nor The Small Faces can be heard because of the ancient P.A. system used by the hall. Between shows the bands return to their hotel and come close to abandoning the tour. The thought that there were only three more shows to go and the money that went with them get the groups to return.
