The Seattle Opera premiers its version of Tommy at The Moore Theatre. Bette Midler stars as Tommy's mother and the Acid Queen. It runs through May 16th. Bette Midler: "As we envisioned [The Acid Queen], it had nothing to do with drugs but was about the pervasiveness of female sexuality...larger than life, suffocating."
