Thursday, April 9th, 1964

That morning The Who audition for Chris Parmeinter of Fontana Records in a basement café on the Edgware Road. Parmeinter is impressed by Pete, Roger and John, but does not care for drummer Doug Sandom. Doug announced his departure, but agreed to serve out the scheduled shows for the weekend.

From there, The Who go to Studio S2 at Broadcasting House to audition for an appearance on the BBC Light Programme.
