"Im the Face" is a funny sort of title for a record -- the one made by the HI Numbers. What's it supposed to mean? Any information on this group, Billy? I've never heard of them before they released this. -- Kathleen Burton (Hants.).
"Face was a word used a lot in London at one time to describe a person who was always around. Someone who was in on everything that happened. Now, it's being used to describe Mods. The Hi Numbers are a new group to me, too. This is their first record. Roger Daltrey (20) lives in Wimbledon and was once a sheetmetal worker. Peter Townshend, from Ealing, came straight from art school into show-business. John Allison was a tax officer! Now he plays bass guitar. The drummer, Keith Moon, is 17, studied at Harrow Technical College and was once a trainee salesman.
