CLEVELAND (AP) — More than 64,000 fans jammed Municipal Stadium for an evening of classic rock ’n’ roll by The Who.

The Who, British musicians Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle stopped in Cleveland Wednesday as part of their 25th Anniversary tour.

The band’s late drummer, Keith Moon, was replaced by Simon Phillips for this tour. Moon died after a party Sept. 7, 1978.

“It’s a timeless thing,” said Mike McGreer, an 18-year-old fan from Brunswick. “I’m into a lot of heavy metal, but I can always get into The Who. They’re these old men, but they can still rock. I’m sorry Pete Townshend isn’t playing (electric) guitar and Keith Moon’s dead, but they’re still the greatest in my eyes.”

Jennifer Reilly, 17, worked at a booth renting binoculars for $10 Wednesday before taking her seat next to her 60-year-old grandmother.

“I’ve been listening to them since I was 12, and they’re just awesome,” Ms. Reilly said.
