The Who play the New Theatre in Oxford opening for P.J. Proby with the Mike Cotton Sound, Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers, and Sandra Barry and the Boys. Thirty-two years later Proby would play "The Godfather" during the 1997 Quadrophenia shows.
