The Who present Tommy to America for the first time at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan. The supporting act is Joe Cocker & The Grease Band. This venue gets the honors because it is run by Pete's old art school friend and former Who photographer Tom Wright. Wright tapes the show on a portable Nagra recorder.
