New Musical Express reports a phone call they placed to Pete where he screamed, “L.A. is crummy, L.A. is full of liars!” and said he stayed at a friend’s house during the recent L.A. shows and didn’t go out.
Pete is trapped in tour booker Frank Barselona’s apartment while Barselona attempts to talk Pete into having The Who return to the U.S.
Roger and Pete appear in New York City court for assaulting a policeman back at the May 16th Fillmore East concert. Pete is fined $75. The charge against Roger is dismissed. After sentencing, The Who remain in New York for another week.
