Lambert and Stamp release the first record on their label Track Records. Oddly enough, it isn’t a Who record, but rather “Purple Haze” by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. It goes all the way to #3.

The police, at the instigation of News Of The World, raid Keith Richard’s home. He and Mick Jagger are arrested under the Dangerous Drugs Act. Throughtout the raid, Richard’s stereo is playing The Who’s A Quick One LP
