The film McVicar has its London premiere. Roger's labor of love receives generally negative reviews. David Wilson in New Statesman calls it a competent television crime show but not much more. Melody Maker and Movietone News agree. Lawrence O'Toole in Maclean's headlines his negative assessment "God save us from bored rock stars." Roger does get praise for his performance, however, in Variety and Films Illustrated.
