Look before . . .

Somewhere in Southampton there is a fan of the Spencer Davis Group who will look before she leaps next time. When the group appeared at Southampton's Gaumont Cinema with "The Who" this week, she tried to vault on to the stage at the end of one of their numbers. Excitement, I suppose.

Only one snag. From where she was sitting, in the front few rows, she probably thought the front of the stage was solid. It wasn't.

She was helped from the bottom of the orchestra pit by theatre officials and a Red Cross man . . . not, I think, very much hurt. Physically, that is.
