THE WHO'S dramatic act at Walsall Town Hall last week was fine as far as the fans were concerned. But afterwards, in their dressing room, they took part in something far more exciting as far as The Boss Men, who supported them along with Craig, were concerned.
As they took a breather after their strenuous show, promoter Terry Matthews took the opportunity to play The Who a tape of four songs written and sung by The Boss Men. All four were enthusiastic, but Keith Moon was especially struck.
Within no time he contacted their agent, Robert Stigwood, and by the end of the week he

had not only signed them up, but had arranged for them to record all four songs on the same label as The Who.
So although life has been a bit dispiriting for The Boss Men lately it now looks as though things might get better.

Today The 'N' Betweens and The Soul Seekers take a trip down to London to do a test recording for Polydor—so they might soon join the ranks of Midland recording stars.
