Who's for The Who?
Special excursion trains have been arranged to take Halifax “pop” fans to a huge all-night dance and barbecue in the Queen’s Hall, Leeds, next Saturday. Promoter, 30-year-old Don Robinson, of Scarborough, says he expects an audience of over 10,000. Heading the list of entertainers will be The Who, whose latest record has been topping the charts.
Radio 270 disc jockeys will act as comperees. Inside the hall will be a full fairground, complete with dodgems, helter-skelter and roundabout. Breakfast will be served from 7 a.m. And Jimmy Saville will make a guest appearance—riding in what is claimed to be Britain’s first elephant race.
