PETER TOWNSHEND (left), guitar sound experimenter and song writer of The Who, developed the way to incorporate feedback into their numbers. Keith Moon (center) is drummer and Roger Daltrey (right), singer. These are some of the fabulous pictures taken by Centralite Paul Troxell.

Where the Bands Are The Muncie Barn is temporarily closed for repairs, and the Winchester Barn isn’t running this weekend. Things are quiet.

Larry Bonshire has joined The Remaining Few as rhythm guitar. In the group now are John Bonshire, bass; Steve Case, drums; Greg Pierce, lead guitar; Jeff Songer, rhythm, and Garry Foreman, lead singer. They have a new Fender Bassman and Vox Berkley II.

Auditioning Sunday at Hullabaloo will be The Roots of the Following of Indianapolis, The Back Page of Kokomo and The Midnite Hour and on Monday, The Repetitions of Sound and The Morning Sons. Hullabaloo dancer is Barbara Costerison.

The Who told Mike Braverman that the reason they smash all that equipment at the end of a show is “to keep it from getting old,” and “It’s fun.” Someone else told him, though, that the broken equipment is sent back to Sun and other manufacturers who repair it. What’s your estimate on the amount in equipment they had? Estimates have ranged from $12,000 to $17,000 worth including those custom drums.

Now back home in London, The Who went from here to Fort Wayne, then New York City. A tour of Japan comes next. Equipped with bunks, the bus The Who uses on tours carries them, the equipment and the six others, including the driver, who travel with them.
