THE WHO--Roger, Keith, John and Peter
I Can See for Miles
There's something about those English groups. When they're good, they're very, very good; and when they're bad, they're horrid. Now take THE WHO--they're not only good but getting better all the time. If you don't know the quartet individually, meet them now--they're going to make the scene for quite a while.
There's Roger Daltrey, the lead singer, 23, born in Hammersmith, London, 5 ft. 7 in., loves Elvis Presley and Chinese food, and drives an Ashton-Martin which is the current love in his life.
Keith Moon, the drummer, 21, 5 ft. 9 in., born in Wembley, digs the Beach Boys and The Beatles, and wants to stay young forever.
John Entwistle is the bass player. He's 23, 5 ft. 11 in., born in Chiswick, likes broiled shrimp, and says the Beatles influenced him the most. His main ambition is to make a lot of money.
Tune In
Peter Townshend won questionable fame smashing up his guitar onstage. He's 22, also born in Chiswick, and he digs Bach and The Rolling Stones. He's written much of the quartet's music and wants to make it as a composer-arranger. With songs like today's I CAN SEE FOR MILES, there's little doubt that he will.
