'The Who, the famed combo from England with the stage act that is something fantastic to witness, will perform at the San Jose Civic Auditorium Monday evening. The show will begin at 8 p.m. Other groups, including San Francisco's All Men Joy, will appear on the same program.
The Who is made up of four members including Roger Daltrey, the fair-haired lead singer with the dynamic, original style that adds so much to the visual excitement of the group; Pete Townshend, the guitarist who has created such a stir in the pop world, not only with his unbelievable playing, but also his songwriting talent; Keith Moon, the drummer who's so sensational to watch that you must close your eyes in order to fully appreciate what a skilled and creative drummer he actually is; and John Entwistle, the bass player, is known as the conservative member of the group because he draws attention to himself by not moving about on the stage, but standing still and acting as a sort of anchor man.
Among their many hit records are the album "Sell Out" and numerous singles "I Can't Explain," "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere," "My Generation," "Substitute," "I'm a Boy," "Happy Jack," "Pictures of Lily," "Call Me Lighting" and "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde."
