A NEW STAGE is being built in the Lanchester Polytechnic Hall for the visit of the Who pop group on Saturday, November 28.

It will meet the stringent specifications laid down by the group.

The Students' Union social secretary, Mr. Bob Jones, who has arranged the group's visit, said today it would increase costs by 3100.

The Who are being paid 3,200 for their appearance at the college.

Mr. Jones said that 350 tickets for the concert would be on sale to the public at the union office from noon on the Saturday of the show. "We intend to continue our policy of allowing outside people to support and enjoy our functions."

Although the contracts had been signed and exchanged for the group's visit, final details were still being worked out, he added.
