The Who concert at the Civic Arena was, for lack of a better word, fantabulous.
Pete Townsend and company pleased the sell-out crowd with the world’s best visual performance.
The stage was a fury of blinking lights, flying microphones, body gyrations, and total involvement.
The fact that a few of the songs sounded alike didn’t matter, the audience was totally captivated from “Pinball Wizard” to “Magic Bus,” from “I Won’t Get Fooled Again” to “See Me Feel Me.”
Several times the foursome received standing ovations, and the applause never ceased until the traditional guitar smashing climax.
Perhaps the Who is overrated; but their stage performance is something not even the Beatles could top.
