Big wait seems worth it

Hundreds of rain-drenched youngsters today got their wish … a ticket for a concert by The Who rock group in Wolverhampton.

Many had waited up to 24 hours for tickets for the show in Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall next Monday.

As the box-office at the Civic opened today a queue stretched completely round the building.

Youngsters waited four-deep in Corporation Street, Red Lion Street and Mitre Fold.

Overnight rain drenched them but it did not drown their spirits.

They remained happy with songs and chatter about the group’s long-awaited visit to the town.
