THE WHO, one of the world's premier rock bands, are playing three shows at the Empire Pool, Wembley, next month as part of their first British tour for two years.
The concerts, on October 21, 23 and 24, mark the biggest rock extravaganza at the Pool since the Rolling Stones staged a succession of four shows at the venue over two years ago.
It's an appropriate return to the Harrow/Brent area for the band. Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon and John Entwistle started their career playing small clubs and halls in this area. The Railway Hotel, Wealdstone, was a regular gig of theirs before their nationwide success in the early '60s.
The box office opened on Friday, and the ticket prices ranged from £1.50 to £2.75. Application is by mail only.
