John Alec Entwistle, bass player for the British rock group The Who, was arrested at a private party here today and charged with disorderly conduct.

He posted $52.50 bond two hours later.

Entwistle, 31, of London; John Wolfe, 32, of New York City, a production manager for the group, and Terry Wineriter, 32, of 14703 Barryknoll, an employe of MCA Records, the group's recording label, were arrested at 2:50 a.m. after drinking hours, in the Houston Oaks Hotel ballroom.

They were arrested as police and the rock group's traveling entourage tried to clear the ballroom after a private party sponsored by MCA, said Peter Butler, 26, of London, personal assistant to Who drummer Keith Moon.

About 350 persons, including record company executives, attended the party, he said.

"Everyone was drunk and a commotion just started as the police tried to clear the room," Butler said.

Wolfe was charged with public intoxication and assault, Wineriter with public intoxication.

M. H. Garrison, 28, assistant manager of the hotel, said the Who party was not especially noisy.

The Who opened a 27-city U.S. tour before 17,000 persons in The Summit Thursday night.
