The Who, considered by many to be the best "live" rock group in existence, will perform at the Salt Palace Tuesday, beginning at 7 p.m.
The British quartet, which broke onto the U.S. scene in 1964 with "My Generation," consists of Roger Daltrey, Peter Townshend, John Entwistle and Kenney Jones.
Once known for smashing its equipment on stage, the Who now is content to let the powerful music convey the group's anger. The godfathers of "punk," as the Who are often called, have always geared their music for youth, not just at them.
The trials and tribulations of being a teen-ager have been well documented in such classic albums as "Tommy," "Quadrophenia" and "The Kids Are Alright."
