Nov. 27, The Who — Although this is being billed as The Who’s farewell tour, it does not mean the legendary rock group is breaking up. It may not even be the final tour: Pete Townshend has termed it “our first final tour.” John Entwhistle says he’d like to keep the band on the road for a couple of years longer. Either way, the band will continue to record together, and that’s good news.

A New York Times report of this concert show has the group playing at least two hours, covering music from every phase of its career. On its last American tour two years ago, The Who set up with a brass section and keyboard player. This tour includes only keyboard player Tom Gorman in addition to the basic foursome.

There is a question of who’s on first looming for The Who’s Tangerine Bowl date. The Clash, who have opened most of The Who dates on this tour, are listed as openers for the entire 20-stop tour. But local media have been advised that Joan Jett and the B-52s will open the Orlando date.
