WHO WON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN?

Probably the worst thing a critic can admit to is prejudice before the fact. We, after all, are expected to be bastions of objectivity, guaranteed to deliver a fair review under any circumstance. And there is nothing less fair than a review written by someone whose mind was made up beforehand.

Nonetheless, I must admit to being none-too-happy about the Who's 25th Anniversary tour, currently wending its way across America (the band will play Washington's RFK Stadium Thursday and Friday).

In fact, I fully expect to hate every minute of it.

Admittedly, this is patently unfair. Not only have I yet to see the new Who – which flanks founding members Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, and John Entwistle with drummer Simon Phillips, keyboardist John "Rabbit" Bundrick, guitarist Steve Bolton, a percussionist, a five-piece horn section and three back-up singers – in concert, but I have no real reason to suspect that its performance will be anything less than polished and professional.

But we're not talking about fair here – we're talking about the Who. And if Townshend, Daltrey and Entwistle intend to trade on the band's history for this tour (and the estimated $30 million each is expected to take
