The English rock band The Who entertains more than 40,000 people Tuesday night in a concert at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego.

The three-hour show, opening with a 30-minute tribute to the group's 1969 rock opera 'Tommy,' featured music from The Who's 25 years together.

The group last played in San Diego during its 1982 'farewell tour.' Review, Page B-2.
