They haven’t released an album of new material since President Reagan’s first term and it’s been 18 years since their first “farewell tour.” Yet rumors of the Who’s demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Guitarist Pete Townshend, singer Roger Daltrey and bassist John Entwistle have reunited (again) for the band’s first major tour in four years, which pulls into Atlanta tonight.

They’re calling this one the “greatest hits” tour — the first in a decade that isn’t centered around the rock opera “Tommy” or “Quadrophenia” — and the set list for the 2½-hour show is heavy on such classics as “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “See Me, Feel Me” and “My Generation” (and its unfilled hopes).
