They’ve been around for more than half a century, and half of its members have died. But still the Who can pack an arena and have a Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Famer as their opening act.

Singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist/songwriter/rock philosopher Peter Townshend will be in Tampa on April 15, as the heavily hyped “The Who Hits 50” tour comes to Amalie Arena.

Also on the bill is the comparative youngster Joan Jett. She was only 5 when the Who formed in 1964, but has put together a legendary 40-year career since her teenage years with the Runaways. She still delivers ferocious live shows.

The Who have said this will be their last tour, though they haven’t announced when the tour will end. They’ve been playing a lot of their hits, from “Pictures of Lily” and “I Can’t Explain” up through “Eminence Front” and “You Better You Bet,” plus a healthy selection of familiar album tracks.

Their backing band, at least in previous shows, has included Zak Starkey on drums — he’s the son of Ringo Starr and a longtime “unofficial member” of the Who — and guitarist Simon Townshend, the brother of Pete and a respected singer/guitarist in his own right.
