– The Detours play a “New Year’s Rave” at the CAV Sports Ground, Northolt, West London.

I’ve yet to find any information about this show aside from it being listed in “Anyway Anyhow Anywhere”.  The venue was a rugby teams park, but I’ve found no mention of a January “New Year’s Rave” nor any mention of a concert at that venue.

    (Photo is obviously another show)

– The Detours play the White Hart Hotel in Acton

– The Who play the Marquee Club in London

– Arriving horribly jet-lagged at Mascot Airport in Sydney, The Who are immediately herded into a press conference. With Australia’s conservative press raising a stink about long-haired foreigners coming to take money out of Australia’s depressed economy, reporters pepper the group with hostile questions. The silent, dazed Who can do little to defend themselves before they are shuttled off for another flight to Brisbane.

– The Who play the Mothers Club in Erdington, Birmingham

– The Who fly back to London to record a new single at IBC Studios. “The Seeker” and a rare Roger-penned song “Here For More” are recorded.

– Keith is a guest on BBC Radio One’s Rosko’s Roundtable. For some reason known only to him, he reads from the book Eating In Africa.

– Billboard magazine carries an ad for “RTL” listing artists they promoted in France the previous year

– Record Mirror magazine carries a brief article on “Who Paris trip”

– Pete Townshend records “Drumming” later released on his website.
