This show is listed in both The Concert File and “Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere”, but I’ve yet to find anything on the internet nor in any of the newspaper archives! Did you attend this show Do you live near the University of Birmingham in Edgebaston that you could visit a local library?
1966 – The Who rehearse for their appearance on Ready, Steady, Go! at Studio One in Wembley. The performance is live during the show from 6:08p-6:35p as they perform “Runaround Sue” and “Instant Party Mixture.”
1967 – New Musical Express prints the article: “After Monkees big Who tv series?” about a supposed deal to create a Monkees like TV show starring The Who.

1967 – The Who play the Toft’s Club in Folkestone, Kent

“Tofts policy was to give good value to their members. In the case of this historic visit, Harold and Doris subsided the gig to the tune of £500.00 That was a lot of money when the average wage was around £10 a week, and gig ticket 3/- to 15/-
(Incidentally a ticket for this gig recently sold at auction for £300 to an Australian who bid by telephone.)”
1967 – Record Mirror features The Who on the cover. Although there is no article about The Who inside, they do make the charts though for A Quick One (#5 L.P.), Ready Steady Who (#2 E.P.), and Happy Jack (#5 single).
1967 – Disc and Music Echo features an article entitled “Townshend blasts Dave Dee, Reeves: Who Boss Pete in Fiery Mood!” on the back page.
1967 – Billboard reports Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp are setting up a public relations firm with Nancy Lewis. They will handle U.K. publicity for The Who, The Merseys and touring Motown acts.
1968 – A 7am flight to Melbourne (after a night of partying) turns nasty when an air hostess, serving drinks to passengers, refuses to serve the groups. When they demand to know why, she reports them to the pilot and by the time they reach Melbourne, there are two lines of police to escort the group off to a VIP lounge. The pilot of their connecting flight to Sydney refuses to take them onboard and the tour ends up on a chartered plane accompanied by two Department of Civil Aviation officers who keep an eye on them all the way to Sydney. From there they fly to Auckland, New Zealand arriving sixteen hours after they left Adelaide.
1970 – The Who play the Theater des Westens in Berlin
1991 – John Entwistle is reportedly sighted a China Club in Hollywood California
1992 – The Chieftains release their CD An Irish Evening: Live at the Grand Opera House, Belfast. Roger sings “Raglan Road” and “Behind Blue Eyes” on the CD. It peaks at #120 in the U.S. Billboard charts and wins a Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album.
1997 – The soundtrack to Prefontaine featuring The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” is released.
1997 – John goes to Stockholm to promote the upcoming Who show.
1998 – Roger’s solo albums Ride a Rock Horse and One of the Boys have their first CD release
2002 – The Who play the Portsmouth Guildhall in Portsmouth, Hampshire
2003 – Sotheby’s announces that John Entwistle’s entire collection of guitars and memorabilia will be sold at auction. You can view the catalog online here
2003 – Presier Records releases the classical music CD Famous Opera Melodies: Woodwinds Sing Opera featuring a 7-minute Tommy medley performed by Davide Formisano and Phillip Moll.
