The Who return to London after two months in North America. John borrows $100 to fly home first class. Two months of touring opening for The Herman's Hermits paid The Who $40,000. By the time they return home they have burned through all that and are now $5000 in debt. Chris Stamp invites Pete to the Track Records office where Chris has put together a preliminary track list for The Who's first LP on the new label. Pete says it needs more songs "and more time away from Keith Moon and Holiday Inns to write them."
