WHO-DUNNIT?

WHO made Keith Moon spill the beans about his secret marriage? Read on for this and more dark secrets of the group, revealed by RAVE’s Maureen O'Grady.

THE house was set high on Highgate Hill, and the name by the side of the top bell was K. Moon, with a star alongside. A ring of the bell immediately produced a bouncing, bubbly Keith Moon at the door.

I have known and liked the luney Moon fortunate a long time now, even though he accidentally threw down a misfit of stirs once at a party. It was because of this strange fondness that I had Moon, that we kept the story of Keith’s marriage to Kim a secret, and more recently, the appearance on stage of Lucille Amanda-Jane.

Keith never tried to keep his marriage a secret. At club like The Speakeasy, Kim allowed as seen with him, and was always introduced as such. He thanked us all for keeping the secret, but half realised that someone would print it.

But strangely, he wasn't angry when it happened. In fact he was rather relieved. Said Keith, "It was my managers' idea to keep the marriage a secret, but it was in fact going to announce it soon—in his own way. Kim and I were married on [unclear: day]… Great pauses and fumbling followed, and Kim had to supply the date. "That was March 7th, 1965." That’s yes, right. I can remember." From there Kim took over the story.

"I was sixteen when I met Keith. I had just left school and had been modelling for one week. Then I met Keith at a show in Bournemouth and we were married a year later. I've never minded being known as a girlfriend. It's not as though it was. I’ve been afraid anyway. I always go out to clubs and shows with him."

"Well," put in the gallant Keith, "I wouldnt want to go out without Kim anyway."

This to me was a slightly new side to Mr. Moon. He's spoken of his wife and baby a lot, but actually seeing them all together in the same room was quite touching. Mr Moon than fancy man.

"In the beginning," Kim went on, "we used to live with Keith's parents in Wembley. It was a bit difficult then, but we just managed."

To Kim, Keith is two different people. So to Kim, Keith is two different people.
