Melody Maker reports on the concert promoter for the Yorkshire Jazz and Blues Festival who had been advertising The Who as his headliners on the 15th. Oddly, he didn't inform the band. The Who announce in this issue that they have no intention of appearing at the festival. In the same issue Chris Charlesworth reviews The Who's July 25th show saying they fully lived up to their slogan, "the world's most exciting stage act."
