Beach Boy Dennis Wilson puts his hand through a window severing tendons. Needing a drummer for their November 1971 tour and knowing how keen Keith is on it, The Beach Boys offer him the temporary assignment. Preparations for the forthcoming Who's Next tour keeps Keith from his dream job.
